Mara Burnell        

My name is Mara and I have been at Animal Healing Center since July 2007. I have loved animals my whole life and I am currently finishing up my B.S. at the University of Washington for Biology/Pre-Veterinarian.

My first job was at an all natural pet store and after that I moved on to another natural pet store which I managed for a couple of years. After starting school I became a waitress, but filled my need to be around animals by volunteering at the Humane Society as a veterinary assistant and a foster parent. I decided I needed to get more clinical experience since I am pursuing a career in the veterinary field, so I started working at Animal Healing Center in addition to being a waitress. I love natural pet care and learning more after graduating this summer and to take a year off so I can volunteer more before I apply to veterinary school.

I share my life with my dog Diego who is a hyper Rat Terrier and my cat Sanford. I also have two Golden Retriever roommates and two cat roommates as well. When I’m not working or in school, you can find me snowboarding at Stevens Pass, at the dog park with Diego, or on some other outdoor adventure.
